The Night of the Knight Project

My students need these canvases, paints and brushes to do an amazing history, art, drama and literature project for 83 seventh graders in our school!

My Students

Synthesizing information! It is was 20th century education is all about. I want my wonderful seventh graders to combine famous art techniques of the past with the lessons of Medieval Times study, with ideas of their own on canvas!

My students a kids ages 11-13 from all over the southern California area.

Our charter school draws kids who love project-based learning and we have a small school that serves them and is growing each year. Our supplies are short but we do amazing projects and presentations of learning. This project (art show) will hang in public when finished.

My Project

Imagine 83 paintings of knights from all the Medieval cultures--some on horses,some dressed for battle, some in training. All the paintings are done with an overlay of technique from a famous artist like Vincent Van Gogh or Andy Warhol. The possibilities are so great! I am excited to work with my students on this project and to present a show to our public at our local library. We need canvases, paints and brushes to do this work.

This project is important since this year the students have been studying Medieval Times and will get to express ideas and images from those times in a synthesizing with their own modern ideas.

All this on canvas for a viewing audience!
