My students need a tablet to assist in their learning social skills, fine motor skills, language and communication skills, and sensory skills.

My Students

Autistic children know what to expect when they tap or slide on the tablet but they cannot anticipate human expressions and reactions, which frustrates them.

My kids are very smart and loving and would love your help in obtaining a new tablet to assist in their learning.

Our school is very open but is in need of funds to help support the increase of technology in the classroom. Tablets are very hands on which aids in autistic childrens' sensory needs.

My Project

Autistic children know what to expect when they tap or slide on the tablet but they cannot anticipate human expressions and reactions, which frustrates them. Tablets also give the children more control of the rate at which they are learning, as opposed to in the normal classroom when the pace in which information is given to them is pre-decided.

Certain apps have proven useful for autistic children, ones that match fun graphics to words and actions, and help the child visualize a task are often the best.

When an autistic child watches a step-by-step guide to brushing his/her teeth on the tablet, for example, he can predict how to do it in real life.
