Help! Our Graphing Calculators Are Lost and Need a Home!

My students need five of the CalcPak hanging graphing calculator storage pockets to hold our graphing calculators.

My Students

We need graphing calculators in our class but we have no easy way to store them. They end up getting lost or misplaced and not in students hands.

The school our students attend is a magnet school with an emphasis on technology.

But we are also experiencing a budget crunch so when technology goes missing (like our calculators), we can't replace them. The students of the school are ethnically diverse and come from high poverty high violence neighborhoods.

My Project

If we had a way to display the graphing calculators easily, we could assign a calculator to each student. This would help reduce loss and also give the students a responsibility to maintain their technology. The calculator storage pack is large enough to accommodate the graphing calculators that our district has invested in and allows a quick view of which calculator is missing.

This project seems silly possibly to you but the truth is that we can't afford to replace calculators that come up missing.

Giving the students responsibility for their calculators means that they, and students coming behind them, will be able to utilize the calculators as they need them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
