My students need 8 Flip video cameras to do cooperative learning projects. Students will work together in groups to do projects like make YouTube videos and commercials.

My Students

Videos are everywhere! Kids today have TV, Internet videos, and video games to watch. Therefore, I want to bring videos into my classroom! I can't think of a better way to inspire learning, cooperation and real life skills than having students make their own videos and share them!

My students are urban and rural mixed group in 7th grade life science.

They are middle school aged, an age group of students looking to express themselves and communicate their feelings and ideas with others. They are energetic and like to use technology. My school is a rural school with decent technology integration. I hope to be able to share videos student's make on our network and in the classroom. We are a poor district, over 3/4 of the student population eats lunch for free. Technology like video camera's are something a lot of my student's families couldn't afford at home.

My Project

These resources will inspire, engage, challenge and focus my students in real life scenarios. they will be developing a deep understanding of science content by being asked to explain, express, summarize and show it in a video. They then will share them out showing others their thoughts and ideas. Not only is their very important to teaching science content, but this also works on communication skill and life skills. It is so important to develop social skills and individual expression at the middle school age. Please, help my students get 8 Flip video cameras to do cooperative learning projects. Stduents will work together in groups to do projects like make youtube videos and commercials.

My project is important because it not only covers science content but it covers life skills.

Students will deeply learn the content by being asked to explain and show it in video form. They will also learn how to work with others, express themselves and communicate. It is the perfect blend of good for the science learning and good for the child development.
