My Students

Imagine a chance to obtain college credits free of charge. That's right -- we do that at our school. Every student in my classroom is doing an online course. They are required to communicate with their instructors.

We are a small school district in the rural mountains of Colorado.

Our school budget is very limited. Since our school is so small, we offer high school students the opportunity to take online courses, thus expanding our curriculum to subjects that we may not offer in the classroom. Many of these courses are dual credit, which gives the student both high school and college credit.

My Project

It's hard to get excited about a headset! However, with good quality headsets, our students are able to communicate with an instructor who is a distance away. They will be able to take high school and college classes that they might otherwise miss out on.

If a student takes a college online class and passes with a grade of C or better, our school district reimburses their tuition -- FREE college credits.

Students in past years have graduated from high school with as much as 30 college credits -- FREE. This program requires good quality headsets and microphones so that the students can communicate with their online instructor.
