New Books for the Library Media Center

My students need 1-2 copies each of 20+ books to be placed in the library so that they will continue to come to the library to check out books.

My Students

Steve Jobs said "Kick Start Your Brain." We would like to kick start and motivate our students through reading books that relate to issues that today's teenagers face daily while in high school.

The students attending the high school are mostly African Americans living in a rural, low income community.

These students can be motivated to read new books, if they were available. The students have been asking for books by the specific authors, but because of the lack of funding, the books are not available.

My Project

My students need these books to become avid readers. We are trying to rekindle their love of reading by having selections that they can relate to. It is disappointing when a students comes to the library media center to check out books and the books are unavailable.

My school has limited funding for the library and out dated books.

Having new books in the library for the students to read, will encourage them to continue to visit the library to check out books.
