My students need art supplies to create an educational display introducing our class and our school to the wonders of the Transcendentalists!!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Richman's classroom raised $504
This project is fully funded
My Students
Before reading the wonderful works of Emerson, Dickinson, Thoreau and Whitman my students will research the exciting era and players of the Transcendentalist Movement. They will create a hallway display that educates the entire school!
Our school is a high poverty urban school with high expectations for all students.
We serve one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the whole country, and are very proud of our mixture of cultures and languages. We strive to give every student an excellent education, despite barriers of language, the traumas often associated with poverty, or disabilities. We know every child can learn!
My Project
I am requesting a set of art supplies that would allow my kids to create poster displays of their research discoveries around Transcendentalism. Some will look at poets or essayists, some will look at Utopian community experiments, and some will look at social philosophers and activists. Sharing their findings using visual supports will create a collage display providing all students an overview of the Transcendentalist Movement.
My students need to know that the broader community believes in them.
Our school has no funding for extras like art supplies, but we all know the effectiveness of project-based learning. My students deserve the materials that will make such learning possible!
