Technology in the Music Room

My students need an iPod Classic and 2 iPod dock/CD players to use in music class to listen to and sing along with.

My Students

CD players are becoming outdated. The CD players that I am currently using in my music classrooms are very old and not fully functional. Did I mention that they don't always work? My classrooms need and iPod and a dock so that we can efficiently listen to and learn music.

I teach at a high poverty school.

My students do not get the same opportunities in life that other students do. In some cases, the attention, support, food and shelter that they receive at school is better than what they will ever get at home. Being a teacher in this position, it is so important for me to give my students everything I have and to teach them everything that they can possibly learn.

My Project

If my classrooms were to receive an iPod, we would be able to listen to music so much more efficiently than we are now. With an iPod, I could put all of the music that I currently have into one source and would not be constantly looking through CDs or on my laptop to find a particular song. Everything would be in one place for me to find easily. I am asking for two iPod docks/ CD players because I teach at two schools and I think it would be easier to carry the iPod back and forth between schools rather than the iPod and the dock. My schools have not been able to purchase a new fully functional CD player in many many years and it is about time my students did not have to watch me get frustrated when I can't get a CD to work or a CD keeps skipping while we are trying to sing.

Every child deserves the best whether they are in a high poverty school or not.

Even after our city suffered a devastating tornado, our community and schools have been able to rise above and show just how important education is to us and our students. Help me give my students the most enriched learning opportunities that I can by providing an iPod and a dock to my classrooms.
