Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you help struggling readers become confident readers? Can you help make a child a life long reader and a lover of books?

The children that I service are second language learners that attend an inner city public school.

The children need extra materials to help them become confident readers. Many of the children that I service need varied materials to learn in in order for them to master their reading skills and gain confidence.

My Project

If the children that I have in my reading class had these materials, they would learn to have a great love of reading. The children would be able to receive extra support with their reading comprehension in a small, non-threatening group setting. Having these materials would help keep the students fully engaged in learning and help them gain confidence in their reading comprehension skills. The children would have a variety of reading material with a high interest level. These children would benefit from these materials because the children could work in small groups and have fun learning to master their reading comprehension skills while having fun. Differentiated instruction is very important to helping the children learn. Having these materials would help me as the teacher differentiate the children's learning abilities and increase their reading comprehension skills.

Can you help make learning fun and for these children? You can make this happen for the children that I help in reading. Making these children life long readers would be a wonderful experience for both them and you. These donated materials would really benefit the children by accommodating their different learning styles. Having the comprehension quick pick cards and the high interest reading folders would really help the children with their reading skills.
