My Students

My students are facing the same problems that many inner city schools are facing: not enough funding! This project that they will be able to complete with these computers gives back to the community by allowing parents to stay in contact with their student athlete, even when they can not be there.

My students come from all over to learn about digital media arts.

We work with limited budgets and try to maximize their exposure to the audio/video industry. My students are outgoing and passionate. They come to my class because they have an interest in communication. They receive the opportunity to achieve college level credit, and are often well ahead of other entering freshman when they go to college. My class is a mix of gender and ethnicity allowing us to experience new ideas and views that may not always be present in their individual communities.

My Project

Using these 2 laptops, students will be able to be mobile and capture high school sporting events. They are able to instantly add highlights and statistics about the plays and the players. Parents are able to subscribe and instantly see updates on their student, or any relative, by email or smart phone app. This gives the students a real world experience and also helps build the relationships with working parents and their student athletes.

Nothing is more important than the relationship between a parent and their child, followed by that child and the community that they are in.

Our goal with this project is to help reinforce that and bring back a sense of community to an area that has been hard hit by this economy.
