My Students

Hands-On-Science!! How can it be hands on when there is nothing to touch?

There are about 100 4th graders who come from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds.

We are a Title 1 elementary school in Florida. These students lack the background knowledge and experiences needed to have them be successful in the science curriculum.

My Project

As fourth grade teachers we watch our students eyes light up with the mention of a science experiment. Having the opportunity to learn "hands on" enriches their learning. My students need microscopes, magnets and other hands-on-science materials to really understand science. These materials will foster their enthusiasm for the importance of science in the future.

Please help our students get the equal opportunity they deserve.

Our students do not receive the exposure, due to the lack of their economic status. We as teachers can not provided everything need for these students to experience the full "hands on" learning.
