This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"I did not do my homework because I didn't know how to do it!" Remember getting home and feeling more frustrated because no one can help you?

Majority of my students are the first in their family to be close to getting a college degree; some are even first to get close to graduating from high school.

Oftentimes, I see them getting frustrated because no one in their family can even help them with their school work. As much as they would want to learn, they feel helpless when they get home.

My Project

Often, students would understand a math concept when they are in the classroom. Come the next day, most of them have already forgotten what they should have learned. One way I can help them even after they get home is to upload instructional video clips on my website for them to watch and listen to when they are doing homework. I am planning to record short instructional guides on how to do their homework; show them examples as if they are in the classroom listening to a familiar voice. This wireless document camera with built-in microphone is the perfect tool for me to do this. With the classroom as the background, they would feel they never left school and continue to be in an environment where continuous learning happens.

Most of my students are not able to pay a private tutor who can help them. This is the best way I can help them both in doing their homework and reviewing for assessments.
