This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the art room students are learning about many different styles of artwork and the different artist. It is very hard to teach the students about what the art looks like when I do not have access to the posters or prints. With a tablet,it makes it easier to show many pieces of artwork to the students.

Our school is located in an urban community in New York.

We are grades k-5 and our school is a technology school. Our students are very willing to learn and love to come into the art room to learn about art and get the chance to use materials they do not get a chance to use.

My Project

Since we are a technology school, our school is trying to incorporate as many different types of technology as possible. Using a tablet helps the students use a different form of technology as well as being able to view different artwork. This allows me to get prints together of artists as well as images of what the lesson is about. It helps each student become more of a visual learner.

This project is very important to me because it has been very hard to teach about the different artist when I do not have any pictures to show to the students.

It is hard to learn about something when you can't see what you're learning about. In art we try to be as visual as possible and this tablet will open the eyes of all the students about art.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
