My Students

My students are so excited about all the wonderful new things they will be learning in 2nd grade. They come to school ready to learn and want to learn in the most fun way possible. Sitting in their seats for more than 20 minutes is hard for them. With learning games, that time extends.

I have a class of 25 second graders this year.

They come from various backgrounds. Some speak English as a Second Language and some qualify for free or reduced lunch. Each student learns at their own rate and work hard in class. I have some students who are struggling to read a beginning reader and others who are reading on a 5th grade level. I have found that they are all willing to help each other out and love to be peacebuilders and good friends to one another.

My Project

I am requesting an assortment of interactive learning games to use with our new Promethean board. These games will help my students remember their language and math skills. These games include reading comprehension, math, and science. There's nothing more fun than playing a game while learning and these games will help reinforce their learning and make it more memorable for them.

We have this wonderful new technology with so many great uses.

Now that we have it, we want to use it to it's greatest potential. With the learning games, my students will be able to do this. We'll be able to use the Promethean daily without worrying about where all the small pieces are to different games. We'll be able to play tic-tac-toe using our comprehension skills and Jeopardy using our math knowledge. Today's students expect to interact with their technology and with this, they can.
