How Dry I Am! I Need Ink!

My students need ink, pouches and paper for their literacy and math workstations.

My Students

Can you imagine being 6 and spending 20 minutes in a workstation that does not yet have enough games and activities to keep you busy?

We are a First Grade class.

We have 9 boys and 13 girls in our room. We follow the "Reading First" protocol and so the kids have 90 minutes of workstations while we complete three 30 reading groups. They spend the remaining 60 in the workstations working on improving their literacy skills. We are also a "Leader in Me" school. The kids are learning about their leadership skills and the 7 habits of happy kids.

My Project

Having ink to put in our printer, card stock to print on, and the laminating pouches to make games durable will enable me to make many activities for our workstations. The more choices the kids have and the more differentiated I can make the games, the more the activities will increase our literacy skills.

Once again, the kids will be so appreciative of having more choices to pick from to build both their leadership and literacy levels.

It is easier to spend my time making activities that will be durable for the kids to use than to spend time making a game that will fall apart the first time it is used. So both the children and I thank you for your support of our learning!
