My Students
Marge, an energetic 10th grader, suggested the title for this project. She and the other students in my art classes enjoy drawing in the sketchbooks I put together for them. They really would be excited though, to have a real sketchbook.
Our small school system is in a rural area where resources are strained.
We are beginning our new school year with a severely limited budget. We have gone to a four day week in order to stretch our funds. Our students are bright and creative. Art excites them and gives some of them their only chance to shine in a classroom.
My Project
These basic art supplies will give my students the chance to draw and shade using real art materials. They will be able to draw in the sketchbooks for years and use the colored pencils to explore color theory and create colored pencil paintings. These experiences will begin to prepare them for college art courses.
We need these basic art materials.
