Math Class: Getting Started Stocked Up for Success

My students need basics! I want to be sure that every student has access to a colorful weekly calendar as well as things like card stock, colored paper, colored pencils, markers, and kleenex.

My Students

Many of my students come to school without the basic supplies that are a prerequisite to being successful in school. I don't want the little things to take away from my teaching time, and more importantly, their learning time.

My students come from a large urban area in California.

They are bright and eager to learn, but often times do not have the materials that they need to make it. I frequently end up buying supplies and always need more. Things like having a colorful math calendar can really make a difference for students. It means that they can easily find it!

My Project

I am requesting things like color paper, card stock, and laminating pouches. I love to do group work in my math class and think that having materials printed on card stock can really lead to great group work and math conversations. I know that students have a hard time doing book work. It is essential, but I think that working as a team can be really inspiring and I have seen a huge difference in understanding when students talk about the work they are doing.

Funding has all but dried up at my school.

If I am not able to get it through Donors Choose, I will have to buy these materials on my own. I know that my students will be glad to have the support and I will make sure that these materials last and are well taken care of. I thank you so much for your help!
