Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever witnessed the spark that glows in a child's eyes when they see that someone has taken a legitimate interest in their work to the point that they want to share it with everyone immediately? This is what I strive to do daily in class but I'm in need of special equipment to accomplish it.
I teach fourth grade gifted students in Florida.
My students are a diverse group of learners coming from different cultural and economic backgrounds. They have a genuine hunger and thirst for knowledge which they seek to quench daily. Our school is a Title I school, which means that over 70% of the student population receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
Our classroom is already equipped with a digital projector and SmartBoard but my students are in need of this Elmo Document Camera visual presenter in order to enhance their overall learning experience. It's use will spark a great amount of motivation, engagement, and love of learning within each of my students. Students will be able to transport their day-to-day learning experiences into a new dimension by being able to instantly showcase their assignments, projects, writing, and other classroom discoveries. They will be able to easily place their work below the document camera to instantly project a magnified version on the board via our projector. Within seconds, the entire class will be able to view their masterpiece writing creations, magnified explanations of math concepts, science demonstrations, and so much more. This visual presenter will increase my students' appetite for learning and increase their eagerness in coming to school every day!
With your generous help, I will be able to open new doors to a variety of learning opportunities for each of my eager learners and you too can, not only witness, but also be the cause of each spark that will glow in each of my students' eyes as they project their wonderful work instantly with the cooperative work of this Elmo document camera, and our already in place classroom digital projector, for all to marvel and appreciate!
