My students need I Writing Practice Magic Boards, Sound Match Game, Build A Phrase! Sight-Word Puzzles, Heavy-Duty Electic Pencil Sharpener, and a set of Toobaloos
Have you ever seen the twinkle in the eye of a boy or girl who has read their first book? What about the little boy or girl who has written their first story? You can help make the dreams of my students come true!
I teach at a school where 75% of all students are on free or reduced lunch.
My students do not have many opportunities and with the slow down of the economy we are not receiving as much funding for our classrooms. I teach first grade. My students are very excited at the beginning of the year knowing that they will learn to read. My students are also very eager to learn to write. They learn so much in first grade and it is always an enjoyable year for them.
My Project
All items that I am requesting will be used during our Literacy Centers. I am requesting 3 sets of the Writing Practice Magic Board. These will be used to help students practice their handwriting in a fun non paper pencil way. I am also requesting Sound Match Game, and Build A Phrase! Sight Word Puzzles. These games will be used to reinforce the skills we are learning. I am also requesting 4 sets of Toobaloos. Toobaloos are used so students can hear themselves reading, and make self corrections. Students who hear themselves and are able to self correct become better readers. The last item I am requesting is a Heavy Duty Electric Pencil Sharpener. We do a lot of writing and go through a lot of pencils in the school year. My pencil sharpener does not work very well, and this would be a great addition.
If you donate to this project you are helping a first grade student reach their full potential.
You are helping them enter a world of pure imagination. Think back to the first time you read a book,or wrote your own story!
