My students need 15 sets of reading comprehension games, math books and games, listening station books on CD, and a bookshelf for our classroom.

My Students

Do you know what it is like to not have the resources you need to teach a specific skill? We need more of these resources in our classroom. I believe students learn best with hands-on activities. My students need a lot of materials to be successful, and this project can help make them successful.

My students live in a rural section of Florida.

Some may come from homes where they do not have a lot of games, books and activities to enhance their learning outside of the classroom. I want to be able to provide materials for my students to use, that will make them excel in school. I think they deserve to have the best schooling experience possible.

My Project

I am requesting various math games, math reading books, reading comprehension games, and shelving for our new materials. These resources are necessary for learning in school. I am looking forward to the students using the math reading books. Math isn't always about games and manipulatives, so I believe the books would be very beneficial. The reading comprehension games will help them with main idea, fact/opinion, reading for detail and many other important skills. We need a new shelf for our materials, since the school only provides so many and I don't have enough space for our materials. I think all of these resources are important to have in the classroom. The students will benefit by having a variety of items to choose from and not use the same ones over and over again. Variety and change is important. We will use these in either small group, whole group or individual use in centers. My students, of course, will learn a great deal from all the resources.

The materials that I requested are essential for learning.

I believe the students will learn in a fun way, and have many rewarding and positive experiences. Any help that you can give to us is greatly appreciated and we would be extremely thankful for a donation of any amount. Myself, as well as my students, thank you for considering.
