My Students

We would like to use this document camera along with our Elmo Wireless Tablet and our LCD projector, all received through Donors Choose. Our Latin students will find their lessons more engaging, I will be able to plan better lessons with less work, and we will save on photocopies.

My students are in a rural school district in North Carolina that has some of the same challenges that urban districts face.

But we also lack the resources a large city offers. Students are about 50% African-American and about 50% on free or reduced-price lunch. Many are in Latin because they dream of successful university attendance and careers in fields like medicine and law.

My Project

With the camera, students will be able to see text from a book or workbook projected onto a screen or white board. They will be able to work in teams on the answers to the projected Latin-related questions. Then they will be able to use our wireless tablet to answer the questions from their seats. We can use the computer to save this work for later review.

Some of my students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school or to attend college.

By funding this project, you will be helping highly-motivated and hard-working students to make their own lives better and enrich our community and society.
