A love for reading develops through exposure to quality literature. But, how is a child expected to catch on to the love of learning if they don't have literature in their hands? This project allows for every student to have a copy of Charlotte's Web to read together as a class.
My class is a wonderful group of boys and girls who just need to be given the tools to succeed.
Most of them come from single parent homes. They are typical third grade students who are still very willing to learn, and love to learn! Our school is a neighborhood school of around 450 (PreK-5). My school is a Title 1 school, and over 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We take pride in giving back to the neighborhood and community in which we are located.
I am requesting 30 hardback copies of Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. By each child having their own copy, they can increase their third grade reading skills in both small group and large group settings, and will have the opportunity to re-read parts they have enjoyed. By getting hardcopy it will allow the books to last for many years to come.
Reading is the key to learning!
Their success in school and in life depends on their ability to read. Seeing a child's face light up as they read exciting novels is priceless... and you can help them reach that experience through your generosity
