My Students

Help our scientific minds grow! I am moving from elementary school, 3rd grade, to a middle school 6th grade science position. I am a very hands-on, interactive teacher and I need supplies to provide my students opportunities to investigate and explore science topics. We need your help!!

Again I am moving into a 6th grade science position at a lower socio-economic, yet A+ school.

I will be responsible for teaching science to over 125 students daily. Luckily I will have some of my former 3rd graders! I am a fun, hands-on teacher and plan to bring that into my middle school experiences to ensure my students have the best opportunities to learn. I will not be able to bring many of the science tools that I have collected over the years and need help purchasing materials for my middle school science lab. The best way to learn science is with hands-on experiments and investigations. I am so excited to try something new and bring that elementary mind into the middle school culture. I think it will benefit the students and i appreciate your help!

My Project

What better way to build experiments and investigations into my curriculum than with hand lenses for magnification, blank and prepared slides for viewing under the microscope, mini microscopes for investigations, thermometers / magnets / eyedroppers / test tubes / graduated cylinders / a balance / mirrors / prisms / and measuring tapes for experiments - all for student not teacher use!

Science is a challenging topic for students and they get few experiences with hands-on learning in middle school.

I want to make science fun and its lessons lasting by providing my students with opportunities to discover science through interactive experiments. I need the basic supplies to begin. Our area is relatively poor and many students do not have the chance to participate in activities at home or in clubs after school to learn beyond the science book.
