Yearbook Staffers Need Cameras!

My students need a new digital camera for next year's yearbook. We currently only have two cameras for the staff to use.

My Students

We are trying to develop our journalism program. Unfortunately with only two cameras (with low megapixels), it makes it difficult for students to be at numerous sporting events and/or practice photojournalism skills.

Our students come from a low income area and many of our students do not have their own cameras.

Those that do have access to cameras, have cameras that are old and obsolete. These students are interested in learning about photography and photojournalism, but don’t have the tools they need.

My Project

A new camera will help students learn how to create digital images in a digital world. This camera will also help students learn about quality photography. It will also enhance our yearbook and create a more professional product. We have worked very hard at developing this program over the past year. The proper technology would further help with next year's development.

In a digital age, digital photography is essential.

This equipment will provide an opportunity for my students to compete academically with students in schools with technology at their disposal. It is important that students from all areas/income levels have an opportunity to succeed.
