My students change through out the day. I have 20 eager to learn students in my homeroom class, and 25 benchmark readers during our Walk to Intervention block. Our school is over 50 years old and our walls space is limited. We have to use mounted whiteboards for our focus wall and word wall.
My first grade class consists of 20 personable students in Alaska attending a public school.
Our school is 100% free breakfast, lunch, and receives a grand for fresh fruits and vegetables for snack 3 times a week. The students come to school each day eager to learn. They all have such a love for learning, exploring, and sharing their thought and ideas.
My Project
My students are working hard learning to work independently, with partners, and small groups. The easel will improve our time and space management during whole group instructions. Because of the age of our building, wall space is limited and we have had to give up whiteboard space in order to have a reading focus wall and word wall. That leaves me to use student white boards for examples and for demonstrations. Having an easel with bins will help organize both me and the students during our 45 minute workshops. As well as save space so we can sit as a class in a group for whole group instruction.
By donating to our project you are giving my 20 students the ability to use the space in our classroom to its full potential.
They should not have to squish together and read from a small student white board. This easel will help give back my students the the ability to experience lessons in a way that is engaging, interactive, and is proven to give them the best opportunity to learn.
