This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

"The more that you read, the more that you'll know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go," said Dr. Seuss. My students apply to this quote and you can help them go to so many different places and more.

I am a first year Kindergarten teacher in DC.

I teach 13 very energetic, one-of-a-kind students. My students are at the early stages of learning to read. Unfortunately, we do not have enough leveled books to help my students go to all these places.

My Project

I am requesting several different book bins of leveled books. These will be in our new Early Childhood Reading room, where all students in Early Childhood can use them, as well as their parents. Students will be able to read books at their reading level and start to build a love for reading.

Please help us to build this Reading Room that will encourage children, no matter what ability, to read and explore places that they have never been before, the inside of so many different books.
