This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are young authors in training. Help us build our vocabulary and writing skills!

My 3rd grade students are all English Language Learners who come to school eager to learn.

Our Writer’s Workshop time is one of their favorite parts of the day. This is a time when they get to be creative while learning to use the writing process. As English Language Learners, we are continuously building vocabulary and the revising step is a great opportunity for this. During this time students are learning to add more details, adjectives, and synonyms for overused words.

My Project

Some dictionaries and thesauruses can be difficult and confusing for beginners. The thesauruses that I have chosen are perfect for my English Language Learners. There are fewer entries, but enough for my students to learn how to use this resource appropriately without being frustrated. Each entry has example sentences to help them make appropriate word choices.

These thesauruses will give my students another tool to build vocabulary and improve their writing skills.

They will also benefit the students in all my future classes. Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated.
