Student Response Clickers to Increase Student Participation
My students need these student response clickers to help increase their desire to participate in class. It will get them excited about learning and completing their work
I work in a new school, and my students come from a variety of backgrounds and many have not had the opportunity to use technology during their learning. Many students find math boring or frustrating. These clickers will help get them excited, and get them more actively involved in their learning.
My school is in a city area.
We are currently housed in a very old building and have not had access to very much technology. We are new this year and so it has been a struggle to get to know all of our student as both individuals and learners. These students came from parochial schools and did not have the access to technology. I would like to bring technology to my students to help them excited to learn math. Part of our new student make up is we have a lot of kids who are missing school, because they don't care if they miss it. I want class to be so much fun they want to be here, because if they are not here there is no way they can learn. I teach 2 different grade levels math and thing they would really benefit from this hands on opportunity.
My Project
These student response clickers will really alter how my class works. It will give the students the opportunity to have technology in their hands most of class. They can check their home work as soon as they enter class, see which problems they missed and then as a class we only need to address the problems students missed. It also makes test taking more enjoyable giving them the chance to enter their answers into their clickers and get an immediate response, include explanations from me about why their answer is incorrect. These clickers will also make math games more exciting The clickers can also create competition by only accepting the first correct response given. It also has time limits which would offer students the chance to take timed tests and get instant feed back. My students will be so much more actively involved in their learn when they are using the response clickers and I can't wait to explain to my students how we will use these every day!
This project is so important because it is giving many students the opportunity to use technology at the same time.
Our interactive whiteboards are great, but they only allow one student at a time to be actively involved. These clickers will get 8 students interacting at the same time! It will increase involvement and help to increase learning.
