Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We want to be "Super Scientists!" We need review activities to help us reach "Commended" on our state standardized tests!
In all my years of teaching I have never had a class like this.
They are all so eager to learn and Science is their favorite subject! Every morning, the first thing I hear is, "What are we going to do in Science today?" Because we are a Title I school, these children do not come to us with the background experiences or knowledge some children are fortunate enough to have. Some have never been outside their community to experience the world around them. The more activities they can experience hands-on, the more they enjoy learning.
My Project
With these activity tubs and Science games, I will be able to set up stations around the classroom to review and explore various concepts that will be tested on the state standardized test. The students will further their understanding of Matter, Energy, the Solar System, and the Scientific Method. Games and stations are very engaging and students can't wait to try them. It will give me the opportunity to present several concepts in one class session and the students will reinforce concepts we have already learned.
This project is so important for my classroom because it gives the children another opportunity to review and relearn information and concepts in Science they may not have completely grasped the first time.
They can rotate through each station in a fun and engaging way and review previously taught information. Please consider donating to our project. The kids will be so excited!
