Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
To be able to capture a student engaged in learning is every teachers dream. We can tell parents about what their children are learning but to be able to show it to them really makes it "real." This project will allow me to showcase students in many ways.
My students are from a poor urban school district in which numerous materials ARE NOT provided.
Technology, unfortunately is one of those things. Students are not able to experience what the average person does with technology on a daily basis. They are extremely engaged in their learning but unfortunately because their parents are working all day, they do not get to volunteer and see what their children are doing first hand. This project will allow them to be able to share in with what their child is doing.
My Project
This project will have a HUGE impact on the first graders. It will allow me to create a memory book of their year in first grade and give them memories to hold onto for the rest of their lives. It will allow them to share their learning with their families and will strengthen the home and school connection. Some of the things I have asked for are a digital camera, photo printer, and photo paper.
Help these children to remember their lives in first grade and to be able to give their parents insight to what it is to be a first grader.
These will be memories that are tangible and that they can look back on, forever.
