Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

They say that the pen is mightier than the sword. In this case, the pen is mightier than television and video games. I have a remarkable group of students who would rather make up their own worlds than watch those that others have already created.

I teach in one of the most poverty-stricken areas of New York.

My students are gifted, and many have shown the extra initiative required to write their own full-length novels. After school hours, they sit and write, read fellow students' drafts, and give positive comments and feedback. They just need the additional structure that these novel-writing workbooks will provide.

My Project

I cannot calculate the impact of this donation, other than to say, imagine publishing your own book at 12! If anyone can achieve this, it's one of my brilliant students. Writing has been a therapeutic and transforming force in their lives. Help them take their stories to the next level with these editing and revising workbooks.

The confidence and growth I have seen through my novel-writing workshop has been awe-inspiring.

Rest assured that a donation to this project will immediately result in improving the academic lives of my students. Who knows...maybe some of them will be on a bestsellers list some day!
