My students need 12 Kids Make Music Too instrument kits that include hand drums, tone blocks, finger cymbals, and shaker eggs.

My Students

Have you ever felt left out? Imagine being a student in Music class longing to play a particular instrument and not being able to because there simply weren't enough instruments to go around.

My students come from very diverse backgrounds.

They come from so many different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities. Yet, all of these differences are laid aside when they walk into the Music classroom. Here all students are on a level playing field and each one can find something at which they can excel. Some are amazing singers, while others can dance. Some have amazing rhythm and others are creative. Each child can find their special niche and enjoy music in their own way.

My Project

Putting an instrument in a child's hand is always pure joy. No matter their age they are always excited to explore what sound it makes and how many different ways they can play it. Unfortunately, there are many times when a student may not get to play an instrument simply because there are not enough to go around. It is always disappointing to know a child leaves my room feeling left out simply because we didn't have enough resources for them to play. With a previous project we were able to fund half of a classroom set of these wonderful instrument kits Kids Make Music Too. Now I need the other half so EVERY child can have the joy of playing an instrument at the same time. It will help every student to learn and focus on the task at hand because they aren't worried about their neighbor having an instrument while their hands are empty.

If you have ever seen a disappointed child you understand the sadness I feel when I have to tell them maybe they get to play next time.

Having a classroom set of different kinds of instruments will not only allow for more learning but simply more joy!
