This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our previous air dry project was such a success we are expanding our study with Facial Feature sculpture! It's now Generation 2: No kiln?!... No problem!!

We are a tuition-free, college-prep charter school: 6th through 12th grade.

I teach all of the visual art classes; middle school and high school. Last year we were fortunate to have our "No Kiln?!... No Problem!!" project funded. My students then had the opportunity to work with clay during a hand-building study.

My Project

That project was so successful, I am proposing an expansion: Facial Feature Sculpture!! My students and I need 300lbs air dry clay (the same brand we used before), and facial feature models. From previous funding we have the wood and wire tools needed. All of my students will directly benefit from working with this clay and using the models as resources to create their Facial Feature sculptures.

Working three-dimensionally develops problem solving skills by measuring, comparing, adjusting and altering.

With your support of this Facial Feature sculpture project, you will make it possible for my students to expand their art experience of working with clay.
