Life is beautiful. That's why I would like for my kindergarten students to observe the cycle of life. I currently have 18 students in my class and they are curious about living things. Curious minds deserve lots of attention.
Unfortunately, my classroom supplies are dwindling as budget cuts are become deeper and deeper.
This school year presents many challenges as I try to prepare for lessons and plan hands-on activities without any extra funding. My goal is make sure my students are unaware of our budget woes. I want to provide them with a magical classroom where the shelves are stocked with all of the supplies they need to be successful.
My Project
I would like to give my students the attention they deserve by allowing them to try their hand at growing plants. With the watch-it-grow window house, the children will have their own mini greenhouse. All they have to do is fill it with wet paper or growing crystals and add seeds. The butterfly nursery will allow the children to watch caterpillars grow, spin silk, and form chrysalises. The finale will be the emergence of a beautiful butterfly. I believe the life cycle puzzle kit will develop skill building and fine motor skills while allowing the students to sequence the life cycles they have witnessed in the classroom. My goal is to stimulate and motivate my students to love science and living things as much as I do.
You can help make my goal a reality.
