Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a third grade teacher in a high need community. My classroom has many outdated technologic resources for the students to use. I currently have no way to connect my students to a lesson using Internet or any other computer technology. So I am in desperate need of a projector.

In my classroom I currently can not use my computers or laptop to teach my students.

I have no ability to project the images onto a screen or TV. My classroom TV connector is broken and can't be connected to computers. I have many web based activities and learning sites I want to share and use in my classroom. Unfortunately, I do not have anyway to do this. We are supposed to be preparing the students for the world of tomorrow. I can not do that with outdated technology. What I have to do is have all 30 of my students cram around my little computer to see the images and information I want to use in my teaching. On top of that, my district has just purchased a new language arts and reading series for us to use. However, we did not have enough money to buy the transparencies. We all got a CD with them to be projected instead. I can not use this since I do not have a way of projecting the information onto a screen of some sort.

My Project

That is why I really am in need of an LCD projector. I know they are expensive, but when the schools have no money to provide things like school supplies to the classrooms, it is up to the teacher to get what they want and need. I feel that with a LCD projector, my students will get to use and learn with updated equipment. They will be able to use the material, websites, and information that is available to them online and now on the series Cd's. I will also be able to have the students share there slide shows and other computer presentations to the class without having to crowd around a small computer with all the other students.

If you are able to help me get a projector for my classroom, we would be very thankful.
