Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We face a future where manufacturing jobs are moving overseas, and our country is changing into one based on innovation and ideas. On the surface, this seems to be a bleak prospect for high school graduates looking for work. But for those taught to think outside the box, it's really an opportunity.

My students are from a tiny town most would call a truck stop.

But our insightful teachers remind them that most of the cities in the ancient world which produced many great thinkers weren't much bigger. They understand we live in an ever shrinking world where communication occurs at the speed of light. These young people are shown how to make the most from very little, that ideas alone can have real value.

My Project

We'd like for our students to be able to enter the Big Idea contest to strut their skills in innovation. You provide entry fees that they would otherwise be unable to afford. They'll have the chance to pit their ideas against other contestants and have the chance to win prizes.

We live in a new era where ideas can and must change the world.

Many stop at showing students how to identify and diagnose a variety of problems. Some teach them how to apply knowledge to fix those problems based on a preset formula or skill set. But a few forward thinking instructors teach the kids how to find solutions where no precedent exists; to bring to bear their entire knowledge base to discover unique solutions to unique problems.
