My Students

Have you ever been asked to complete a project without the necessary materials to complete it successfully? This is the problem my students are facing in many of my classes.

These students are high school students enrolled in business education classes such as advanced business technology, marketing, and computer business applications.

My students live in a small rural town and many have experienced the loss of an income or job in their household. In the past eighteen months, we have lost three local industries and many of these students have experienced the loss of a job by a parent or both parents. Because of this, many students do not have the resources to purchase technology to create their projects.

My Project

I am requesting three Flip Video cameras. These cameras will be used in many ways: to create documentaries about local veterans; to videotape our students' "A Day In The Life" series; to create promotional materials for our school, local industry, and our economic development councils; and to tape local events to play on our local media channel. Currently we have one video camera that can be used by 40+ students. Often, students complain that they are unable to catch the images they are need and want because they are not signed up for the camera that day. With these cameras, students will be able to have access to a recording device on a much more regular basis. In addition, students will finally have the resources they need to produce quality projects that can be enjoyed by our entire community.

These video cameras have the potential to impact each student who comes through my door.

In addition, the recordings could potentially impact citizens in our local area. Your contribution will be appreciated for years to come, and by many students.
