Lifting Weights and Building Healthy Futures!

My students need weight lifting equipment in order to assist them in fitness development and athletics.

My Students

Do you know what its like to be from a rough neighborhood? The students at my school fight many typical battles that come from living in a very urban area. Athletics are often a source of success and safety for many of our children. Help them stay committed to sports and school through weight lifting.

The middle school students at my school are typical at-risk adolescents.

Many of our kids will use athletics as their ticket out of poverty or as their reason to remain in school. The students at our school face adversity every day and each day I witness them come out on the other side.

My Project

A set of free weights, dumbbells, could be an amazing asset to our student athletes. After school clubs, physical education classes, and athletic teams could utilize the dumbbells to assist our students in proper training and weight lifting. Not only will our student body learn overall health and fitness lessons, but we can assist student athletes in utilizing a "weight room" as a safe after school option. Free weights would be purchased at varying weights and weight rack is requested in an effort to keep the weights organized and in top condition for many years.

The impact of a weight lifting rooms for our students would be life altering.

Students can not only improve their own overall health, fitness, and wellness but will see the importance in commitment, leadership, athletics, and life-long health.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
