Preschoolers with Autism Biking Thru Winter

My students need a tricycle and classroom carpet.

My Students

Help us keep active during winter! My 3 and 4 year old preschoolers with autism need to keep moving during cold and snowy days. Since we can't use our playground, we are improving our gross motor skills indoors. We could use a tricycle to practice turn taking while staying active.

My students are diagnosed with autism and attend a public school in a substantially separate classroom.

We work hard on self help skills, language skills, and readiness skills, but between these activities, we like to move! Winter time keeps us off the playground, which we love! A tricycle could get us through the cold and snowy days.

My Project

My students will continue to work on gross motor skills as well as turn taking skills. By requesting to use the tricycle and sharing it with classmates, they will learn and practice skills needed for school success. The new item can also be a powerful reinforcer for tasks completed and mastered.

I know my students will truly enjoy this item.

They deserve the best education possible and the best environment to receive it in. Three and four year old need to move and be social with each other. I think that this donation will do just that.
