This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Challenges are stepping stones or stumbling blocks. It all depends on how you see them. My students have many challenges in front of them. A good education should not be one of them.

Help intelligent, under-privileged students succeed in this A.P.

Biology class and they may be ale to opt out of up to 3 credit hours of college Biology! I teach Advanced Placement Biology to 11th and 12th graders at a Florida High School where many of our students are on free and reduced lunches. I know my students can succeed, with a lot of help, encouragement, and the right materials. Each student is required by the College Board to have a Lab Notebook detailing the 12 labs required of them for the year. Because so many of our students are on free and reduced lunches, they cannot afford a notebook.

My Project

These notebooks will allow students to collect data, write observations, hypothesis, and conclusions for their labs in a neat and professional looking notebook. There are twelve essential labs in the Biology curriculum that the students are required to complete.

Your help will ensure that my students reach their academic potential despite their low income status.

This class means these students may not have to pay for their freshman year of Biology in college.
