The Silvery Sound of Success: Flute Needed!

My students need a new flute for our growing marching band.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine the light in a child's eyes when they first put an instrument to their lips and produce a sound. It's a magical thing to see, the delight and wonder on their faces. Our band program is growing, and we rely on school-owned instruments to allow kids to participate.

Students walk into my classroom every day excited to be a part of what goes on there.

From middle and high school students working on marching techniques, to 5th graders learning how to play a band instrument for the first time. They get excited to play their instruments. Most of their families cannot afford to buy or rent instruments, so our program makes every effort to loan instruments to the students. Our small rural school district is amazing for providing this opportunity for all students--and you can help by contributing! This year our band program is providing over fifteen performance opportunities for kids including parades and formal concerts. Rehearsing and performing as an ensemble gives students confidence and pride. A new student-model flute will give one more aspiring musician a shot at this confidence.

My Project

Silvery tones and confident young fingers, what more could you ask for? This Barrington student-model flute is perfect for the beginning or intermediate student. It comes with a solid carrying case and is specially designed to be durable for many years. This flute will enable a student to learn solo and ensemble repertoire and perform it in various settings. Studying music enables students to become better at both math and language arts, and give them the chance to experience teamwork and pride in their accomplishments. Students who use this flute will be able to learn quickly and gain confidence. Playing the flute will give students a better chance at getting into college and earning scholarships.

Your contribution will make a huge difference in the lives of my students!

We love to share what we do with our community--whether it is showing our pride at football games supporting the team, or in local parades or at the end of year concert. A shining new flute played wonderfully by a student will add immeasurably to our program, for students who might not otherwise have a chance to play an instrument.
