This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a working CD/tape recorder in my room but nothing to go in it! A read along set for my students would definitely help them become more fluent in their reading.

I am a second grade teacher in a Title 1 school.

This school is in a very low income area, and many of my students come from troubled home situations. I want more than anything for them to be exposed to a wide variety of supplies and curriculum so that they can achieve their full potential. Literacy is essential! Listening to the stories while looking at the pictures gives students the essential experience of linking spoken words with visual cues.

My Project

Many of my children do not get read to at home on a daily basis, making the listening center even more imperative. Your help will ensure that my students are read to multiple times a week by someone in addition to myself. Budget cuts have affected us all, and they have made their way into my classroom as well.
