Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine a school in this day and age with no computer lab? Imagine a student in my school, a third grader who has no opportunities to work with a computer or technology. I want the opportunity to give my students the experiences they're lacking by creating a multimedia center.

My students are the minority, inner-city students you see on television.

They live in an area where most students are not able to go out and play outside because of gangs. Our school has lost yet even more money for our budget. Our school no longer has a functioning computer lab because it's not in our schools budget. I want to give my students all the experiences I can have available to them with your help.

My Project

I purchased with my own money a new laptop computer. I want to be able to connect my computer to the Epson projector so that my students and I can view the web, lessons, graphics, etc. on the portable projector screen. This would help motivate my students during lessons. I can use power point and teach them how to use it as well as group projects. We can view Electric Company episodes that teach my students how to write a mystery story. We can research nonfiction as a class so that my students can write their All About books. We can also view class movies and pictures throughout the year.

This donation would make a tremendous impact on my students.

They would have the opportunities to work with multimedia. Creating movies, presentations, etc. Without this donation my students will only have the technology of sharing one computer among 25 students, one-at-time, throughout weekly schedules with not much interaction amongst one another.
