We're Ready For Reading!

My students need classroom sets of 2 books to better their reading comprehension and get them ready for middle school.

My Students

Reading books opens our students minds to a whole new world. It is my desire to make all of my students love reading. I want my high students to excel and bring my low students to grade level. I don't have enough classroom funds to buy more books for my students.

I have 84 kids and 30 of them are reading above a 6th grade level.

The rest of my students are on grade level and I have a few below. Our school is a county school with over 800 students. It is my goal to have all students reading at grade level by the end of the year.

My Project

My students are required to read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I would like to complete the series with the two class set of books I have ordered. The books that go along with this project are, Brian's Winter and Brian's Return. Each of these books will enhance my students vocabulary and comprehension. The students can connect things in their life to these books by Gary Paulsen. I want to get my students excited about reading by being able to read the other books in the Hatchet series.

My classroom is in desperate need of classroom sets of books including the two I have chosen, Brian's Winter and Brian's Return by Gary Paulsen.

Please help me improve my students learning while they are in my classroom. I always tell my students that the more they read the better their vocabulary skills will be.
