My Students

Do you remember P.E. in elementary school? The excitement was hard to hide. What will we do today? Parachute, scooters, kickball, jump rope, rhythm scarves, or relays! Getting back to the basics to capture interest and promote team organization is where we need to be.

These students are K-2 students in a low income, rural Oklahoma school with less than 400 students.

The students grow up, go to school and graduate in the same small groups. Here all students are participants, not spectators. Students who might be on the sidelines at large schools occupy the stage.

My Project

The materials requested will provide a fun fitness program that will motivate the students to get active. The spot markers will provide for jumping and hopping as well as tossing targets for the bean bags. The balls will provide throwing and catching practice. Group games such as kick ball and hoop practice will be organized with the balls and reinforce team work and cooperation. Rhythm and dance Cd's provide an opportunity to follow directions and creativity. Catch mitts provide practice with eye-hand coordination. The hoops will be used for rolling, jumping through, targets and relays.

With a variety of active play equipment the students will get excited about moving!

Learning to stay healthy and fit in a fun, organized environment will promote a lifelong interest in keeping active.
