This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you discovered the joy of reading? It should be a magical experience!

My class consists of English Language Learners.

They already face a disadvantage in learning to read because English is not their first language. However, this doesn't mean that they don't want to read badly! Since many of their parents don't speak English, most of their skills must be taught and practiced in school.

My Project

My goal is to open these students to the power of books. In order for students to love reading, they must know how to read comfortably. By purchasing these books on CDs, the students will be able to hear the words clearly and follow along with the book in front of them.

So many children stop "reading" because they think it's too hard.

We need to show them the importance and joy of reading before they are turned off completely. Having the opportunity to listen to a book at a listening center will provide students with an extra boost in the right direction!
