Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how proud you were of the first story that you ever wrote? Did you want to show it to everyone that you knew? An ELMO projector will allow my students work to be projected onto the wall for all to see! They will feel pride as their peers gush over every detail of their story!!!

My kindergarten students attend a public, low-income, inner-city school in Illinois.

The students in my classroom work hard everyday and have overcome many obstacles in their lives. They love school, learning, and the friends that they have made in their classroom.

My Project

One of the favorite activities in my kindergarten classroom is writer’s workshop. At the end of every workshop the students get to share the stories that they have written and illustrated. The only problem is that not everyone can see the tiny illustrations that the author has created. If the book could be projected onto the wall then every detailed illustration could proudly be shared. Students would be thrilled to see their story blown-up and inspired to create more books!

I want my 5 year-old students to look at themselves as authors.

I want them to feel proud of themselves and the work that they create. An ELMO projector will add an element of pride and accomplishment to my writer's workshop.
