Heathly Eating for Growing Kids

My students need healthful living materials: fruits and veggies beanbags, healthy food game, nutrition theme box, fruit and veggie cut ups and a CD about eating healthy.

My Students

When you think about topics that are mentioned in a Kindergarten classroom, normally healthy eating is not a topic that is a high priority for 5 and 6 year olds. I want to focus on incorporating healthy eating and the benefits of eating appropriate foods into my lessons.

When I walk into my classroom every morning, I can honestly say that I love my job!

I have 22 awesome Kindergarten students that keep me on my toes and always thinking about what I can do better to captivate their learning. My students are creative, curious and eager to learn new things. I love creating new ways to inspire them and impact their learning.

My Project

I have spent this summer focusing on the importance of eating healthy and want to incorporate this into my classroom. I have 5 students that have severe food allergies this year and I wanted to focus on the positives of foods, rather than my students thinking negatively about a certain food or one of their friends for having the allergy. My students need healthful living materials: fruits and veggies beanbags, healthy food game, nutrition theme box, fruit and veggie cut ups and a CD about eating healthy. I believe it is imperative for my students to realize the importance of fruits and vegetables and their benefits. I am hoping with the materials I have requested that my students will not only learn about healthy eating but also be a positive role models to their peers and families. These materials will offer vital information, activities and real life situations for my students to access.

Your donation to this project would allow me to provide opportunities for my students with and without allergies to learn about foods that can make a positive impact in their lives.

These materials will also allow me to teach about allergies and why we need to be careful and protective of our friends that do suffer from an allergy. I am hoping that these materials offer a sounding board of many discussions and opportunities to learn the benefits of particular food
