My Students

My students are bright and eager to learn beyond the requirements of the regular classroom. These kids are tomorrow's leaders and are looking for ways to explore advanced concepts in their world. They need the opportunity to discover new knowledge in a hands-on and meaningful manner.

These kids are tech-savvy and thrive on learning new technologies and seeing how they can apply what they are learning in new and exciting ways.

My kids live in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio and are excited about being the future of Northeast Ohio! You can help them sketch out a new future!

My Project

If they can turn regular parallelograms into a flock of chickens (see profile picture), imagine what they can do with your help! I want my kids to experience constructing and learning geography through the aid of Geometer’s Sketchpad. This software will be loaded onto class computers and students will have the opportunity to create and explore relations between all geometrical figures. The Geometer’s Sketchpad requires students to use higher order thinking skills to understand the construction of regular geometrical figures, compels them to use spatial reasoning skills to translate what is in their mind onto the computer, and allows them the opportunity to experience new figures and relationships by manipulating what they create. Students will experience advanced concepts in math while learning logical reasoning and the ability to translate their thoughts into commands that the computer can understand.

Geometer’s Sketchpad will integrate 21st century technology skills into the math classroom and ignite a passion for math and technology for students who are eager to learn, grow, and one day will change the world!
