My Students

When I watch a Lysol commercial, I think of my classroom. I think of all the many hands that come in contact with student desks, chairs and computers. With flu season approaching, we need to maintain a clean germ-free workspace for our students.

Over 80% of my students receive free or reduced lunch.

They are from a small rural community composed of mainly farmland. Many of our students work on farms or in chicken houses. Our building is over 65 years old. It is not uncommon to find roaches, mice or bats in the building. Keeping it clean is a chore, but it is necessary for the well-being of our students and teachers. With flu season ahead, we should take every step possible. With many of our students working in chicken houses and on farms, it is important to ensure their hands are clean prior to handling computers that will be used by many other students in order to prevent spread of germs. In addition, our school only has cold water to wash hands. In the winter, it is almost unbearable for students. To ensure their hands are clean these antibacterial and sanitary products will be helpful in maintaining better hygiene and germ-free work conditions for all.
